DKNY Delicious Night Advert Analysis

In the "Delicious Night" print advert the model is facing towards the audience and her hair looks like it has been wind swept onto her face. The models facial expression seems to be quite intrigued in something ahead of her, something we, the audience, cannot see.

The location of the print/moving advert for "Delicious Night" is in New York yet again, part of the "Be Delicious" perfume campaign. However for the moving and print advert it is New York but at night hence the title "Delicious Night."
The storyline of the moving advert seems to be that the model is having a night out in New York. She is seen with her arms around a man and someone seems to be following/walking with her and she keeps on turning and looking back at this person. The person could be the man she has her arms around.

The costume used for the model is a short, black and backless dress. This dress has been selected for the model to wear because it is perfect for a night out with friends and makes the model seem attractive.

The colours used are mostly purples and blues. Purple connotates that something is eye catching, unusual and remarkable. And blue connotates something if powerful, rich and confident. The purple would have been used to show that by wearing "Delicious Night" you will seem unusual yet quite remarkable and will appear to be confident.

The name of the product is "Delicious Night". This would have been used to show that the perfume is ideal for to wear while having a night out with friends or having a romantic night out with someone special. And by wearing this perfume your night will be quite successful, fun or "delicious".

The font used for the print advert seems to be Times New Roman and yet again has been put in capital letters to draw your eyes to the lettering. This would be a clever way to advertise this perfume because two other perfumes in the Be Delicious campaign had come out prior to "Delicious Night". "Be Delicious" and "Red Delicious" seem to be a huge success so this perfume would mean equal success.

The camera angle/shot is a medium shot, may have been chosen to show the night time New York city background as this goes with the theme of the perfume and the name.

This perfume is aimed at woman, again aged between 20-35. The buyer of "Delicious Night" would have a job probably at a office or something in beauty. She would be very concious about her appearance and would always look at her best. The buyer would go to Selfridge's and would probably own at least one item of Hollister clothing or designer clothing. They would possibly read magazines such as "Elle", "Vogue" etc.. They would like to watch romantic comedy's and might watch a chick flick occasionally with her friends. They could be a DINKY.

The moving advert for "Delicious Night" has snob appeal and magic ingredients. Becauseit makes the buyer of the perfume part of a select group because not everyone can afford this perfume and it will help the buyer gain sexual attention. And not everyone will be able to achieve this sexual attention.

According to Goffmans Theory woman usually have at least one body part on show. In this advert the model's back is on display. Which shows that woman always have flesh showing and cannot resist showing their bodys and making them seem easy to acquire.
