"Red Delicious" Print Advert Analysis

The models seem to be sitting on top of a bike, the female models facial expression seems to be blank however she looks like she's trying to appear seductive. The male model is facing the female model so his entire face cannot be seen, however he seems to be hypnotised and inhaling in her scent. They both have one of the hands touching the others leg which gives the idea that they are quite passionate together and there's a sense of romance between the two.
The location for the print advert is unclear however I am assuming that it is set in New York because of the moving advert for "Be Delicious" and the designer’s name.
The woman is wearing a short red dress and the man is wearing a grey short sleeved t-shirt and a pair of blue jeans. The woman's clothing has been chosen to show that she is quite seductive, someone you want wish to acquire. And the man’s choice of clothing may have been chosen to show that he is quite casual and relaxed.
In this advert the model yet again is holding a apple, this time it is a red apple. This has been used again to imitate the bottle and a red apple may have been used to go with the theme of red and romance in this print advert.
The colours used in this print advert are mostly red with some grey on the man's clothing. The usage of red would have been used for its connotations of warmth, fun, love, passion and danger. Because people like things that they cannot have, so the man in the advert would want to acquire the woman because she seems dangerous and inaccessible so he wants her more. And the colour grey may have been used to have the connotation that something is stylish, elegant, trendy and neutral. This would have been used so show the man is quite stylish so the woman would want him just as much as he wants her.

The product is called "Red Delicious" part of the "Be Delicious" campaign. The name sounds seductive; this perfume has used the word red for the connotations of passion etcetera. And the word delicious to seem attractive and very seductive to the opposite gender to draw them in.
The slogan is "A new temptation in fragrances. For women. For men." The slogan clearly shows that the perfume wants to give the idea that by wearing this perfume, man or woman, you can appear to be dangerous and very tempting and you will attract a lot of sexual attraction or attention.
The font used is big and red, "Delicious" has been written in capital letters as to draw your eyes into reading that word first. This has been done because if you have brought the "Be Delicious" perfume previously then you might want to buy "Red Delicious" too. And "red" has been written in a fancy and elegant font maybe to give the ideology that the perfume would give you some elegance.
The camera angle used is a medium shot, this possibly may have been used to show the background but still make the audience's eyes be drawn to the models.

The product is aimed at men and women, aged possibly between 20-37 and could be any ethnicity. They could do a job that pays quite well, income is not too high or too low. Lifestyle choices such as shops would include River Island and New Look for the female buyer, the male buyer would also shop at River Island and Topman. The female buyer of "Red Delicious" would read magazines such as "Hello", "OK" and possibly "Elle". The male buyer would read magazines sports magazines etc.. Films viewed by a woman who would buy "Red Delicious" would be maybe a romantic comedy and a man who would buy this would watch action films like "Fast and Furious" etc.. They would be a DINKY.
The advert has magic ingredients because it makes "Red Delicious" seem to be a miraculous perfume. As soon as you put the perfume on you will magically attract sexual attention from anyone and will be able to acquire anyone you wish to acquire. People who have a lot of money will be drawn in by the magic ingredients in this advert and spend their money on "Red Delicious."
According to Goffmans Theory woman are usually appeared showing parts of their body mostly legs and chest. In this advert above the model is mostly showing her legs and she is letting the male model touch her. This makes the female model seem that she doesn't mind being touched and she reveals herself so she can be touched.

DKNY Delicious Night Advert Analysis

In the "Delicious Night" print advert the model is facing towards the audience and her hair looks like it has been wind swept onto her face. The models facial expression seems to be quite intrigued in something ahead of her, something we, the audience, cannot see.

The location of the print/moving advert for "Delicious Night" is in New York yet again, part of the "Be Delicious" perfume campaign. However for the moving and print advert it is New York but at night hence the title "Delicious Night."
The storyline of the moving advert seems to be that the model is having a night out in New York. She is seen with her arms around a man and someone seems to be following/walking with her and she keeps on turning and looking back at this person. The person could be the man she has her arms around.

The costume used for the model is a short, black and backless dress. This dress has been selected for the model to wear because it is perfect for a night out with friends and makes the model seem attractive.

The colours used are mostly purples and blues. Purple connotates that something is eye catching, unusual and remarkable. And blue connotates something if powerful, rich and confident. The purple would have been used to show that by wearing "Delicious Night" you will seem unusual yet quite remarkable and will appear to be confident.

The name of the product is "Delicious Night". This would have been used to show that the perfume is ideal for to wear while having a night out with friends or having a romantic night out with someone special. And by wearing this perfume your night will be quite successful, fun or "delicious".

The font used for the print advert seems to be Times New Roman and yet again has been put in capital letters to draw your eyes to the lettering. This would be a clever way to advertise this perfume because two other perfumes in the Be Delicious campaign had come out prior to "Delicious Night". "Be Delicious" and "Red Delicious" seem to be a huge success so this perfume would mean equal success.

The camera angle/shot is a medium shot, may have been chosen to show the night time New York city background as this goes with the theme of the perfume and the name.

This perfume is aimed at woman, again aged between 20-35. The buyer of "Delicious Night" would have a job probably at a office or something in beauty. She would be very concious about her appearance and would always look at her best. The buyer would go to Selfridge's and would probably own at least one item of Hollister clothing or designer clothing. They would possibly read magazines such as "Elle", "Vogue" etc.. They would like to watch romantic comedy's and might watch a chick flick occasionally with her friends. They could be a DINKY.

The moving advert for "Delicious Night" has snob appeal and magic ingredients. Becauseit makes the buyer of the perfume part of a select group because not everyone can afford this perfume and it will help the buyer gain sexual attention. And not everyone will be able to achieve this sexual attention.

According to Goffmans Theory woman usually have at least one body part on show. In this advert the model's back is on display. Which shows that woman always have flesh showing and cannot resist showing their bodys and making them seem easy to acquire.

Be Delicious Advert Analysis

The model's facial expression is quite blank. Her face is quite emotionless with her lips parted. The model has been used just for her beauty alone.
The location for the advert seems to be a fruit market, with loads of green apples in the shot. This has been done because the bottle has been made to imitate a green apple. The city of the advert is New York because of the designer name - Donna Karen New York. New York could also have been used because of the perfume bottle being an apple and New York being known as the “Big Apple.”
The storyline of the moving advert is a woman, who lives in New York, comes across a fruit stall and comes across a handsome man who goes to pick up the same apple that she wants. He offers her the apple and she bites into it quite seductively. After she walks away smiling and then the man starts to follow after her. The advert gives the ideology that the perfume is supposed to help you attract male attention.
The costume of the model that appears in the print advert is a red tank top and a brown woolly shawl/cardigan. The model who appears in the moving advert also wears red and brown but this time she is wearing a red dress with a brown jacket and boots.
The main prop in the advert is the apple. As it is the main inspiration for the perfume as it is the shape of the bottle. A connotation for the usage of the apple could also be because the main setting of the advert is New York and a common name for New York is the "Big Apple."
The main colours used in the advert are reds, greens and brown. The connotation of red is romance and love; green has been used because of its connotation of nature and envy. And brown may have been used because in New York if your skin colour is brown it shows that you are quite wealthy because you have loads of money to just sit back, relax and get a tan. The red may have been used because main concept behind the perfume/advert is to attract sexual male attention and the green may have been used because of its connotation of envy. This may be because they want their customers to think that if they buy "Be Delicious" they shall be envied by others who do not have the perfume.
The name of the product is "Be Delicious". The name is quite sexual as they want the person who wears the perfume to seem "delicious" or quite attractive.
The font used is form of Times New Roman and has been written in big clear capital letters. This may have been to show that it is simple yet effective.
The camera shot/angle used for the “Be Delicious” print advert. This probably has been used to show the background, which are green apples.  And also to show that the model is holding a green apple and looking quite seductive or “delicious” hence the name of the perfume.
A prop that keeps on coming on the screen repeatedly  is the green apple. This has been used for many reasons such as the bottle made to imitate a green apple. Another reason is that the main city for the advert is New York and as stated before New York is also known as the “Big Apple.”
This product is quite obviously aimed at women, probably of the age 20-35. A woman of any ethnicity could buy this product, however the actual advert for “Be Delicious” seems to be mostly aimed at white or black people as the models used for the moving and print ad are black or white. Someone who would buy “Be Delicious” would most likely have a good job probably at an office etc. with quite a good income but they won’t be very rich. They would probably be ranked working class. The shops that the buyer of “Be Delicious” would be Selfridges, New Look etc. They might also own one or two items of designer clothing.  They would read magazines such as “Vogue” and might read a gossip magazine occasionally. They would probably be a DINKY – Dual Income No Kids Yet.
The advert has a "magic ingredients" persuasion technique, because the perfume in this advert shows that the person who wears "Be Delicious" could attract male attention effortlessly.

According to Goffmans Theory woman are usually portayed with a blank or inviting expression. In this advert the model has a blank expression which means she isn't intelligent or clever.
